¡Art!

MMFA Exhibition Catalog

In 2008, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts hosted Cuba! Art and History: From 1868 to the Present the most comprehensive retrospective of Cuban art ever held outside of Cuba’s borders. Despite Watch Mojo’s interviewer, Christine, who sounds like she is more accustomed to speaking of the beach, music and rum than art, this short video on the exhibition is redeemed by MMFA curator Stephane Aquin.

Cuba! Art and History: From 1868 to the Present may have finished, but the award-winning 424-page exhibition catalog includes 450 illustrations and is the first publication to cover the entire history of Cuban Art.

It’s a yummy brick of a book. I own one, and so should you.
